I wrote this story as a sequel to The Island-below-the-Star, as many of my readers wanted to know what happened to the five brothers after they discovered the Hawaiian Islands. Throughout this story, I introduce the reader to the many species of plants and animals that are found only in Hawaiian, such as the yellow butterfly fish and the monk seal on the cover. A list of the plants and animals featured in the text is appended to the back of the book with more information. An author's edition in the Hawaiian language will come out soon.
